Do Razer laptops break easily? Based on my experience with the Razer Blade 15, the answer is no. I have used this gaming laptop heavily for over a year with no signs of damage or issues with build quality. However, I acknowledge there are mixed Razer laptop reviews, with some users reporting overheating and battery bulge issues.
In my time with the Razer Blade 15, it has proven sturdy and reliable with no breaks or faults through extensive gaming use. So overall, if properly cared for, Razer laptops are durable and should not break easily. That said, keep reading to see if a Razer laptop is a good choice.

Razer Blade’s are premium gaming notebooks that offer great performance. Considered some of the best gaming laptops for Call of Duty Warzone 2, Red Dead Redemption or Apex Legends gamers.
Razer laptops have an all aluminum body. High-end hardware like NVidia GeForce RTX GPUs and AMD and Intel processors, beautiful high Hz displays. Lots of RAM and storage, plus plenty of gaming-specific features, allowing users to run games on the highest settings.
These advanced features include RGB backlit keyboards, these are also optimised vapour chamber cooling laptops. Featuring, Razer’s Synapse 3 software to control RGB lighting, internal fans, and sound settings. Even the base model from Razer has these features.
Why Don’t They Break Easily?
Razer laptops are known for their durability and are built to last. The Razer Blade 15 is definitely one of the most reliable laptops on the market. You will find that all Razer laptops have the same all aluminium body construction that is strong and sturdy.
The Razer product I got my hands on was the Razer Blade 15. Easily one of the most impressive gaming laptops, I have owned. Its interior components included an ‘Alder Lake’ Intel Core i7 12th Generation CPU and a NVidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card.
After one year of use, while also using my Razer laptop everyday work and gaming. Still, it is a joy to use and anything I throw at it, it delivers. Moreover, one of the first things I noticed is Razer Blade laptops are remarkably lightweight considering it is a 15-inch gaming notebook.
When you compare this laptop model, to other 15-inch gaming laptops like the HP Omen vs Alienware m15, or the Razer Blade 15 you can feel this difference. The Blade 15 has a more compact design and higher build quality. Therefore, Razer laptops are less likely to break if dropped or knocked. The only downside, you will pay a high price for this convenience.
The Most Common Problems They Have
Razer gaming laptops are a great choice for gamers and content creators. They can easily better the performance of other powerful models like the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G or ASUS ROG Strix G series. And the more advanced Dell Alienware models.
Just like those laptop brands, they are not without there issues. The most common issues with Razer Blade laptops are their batteries being poor. Some users have even reported the batteries swelling up beyond use, and this would be a nightmare.
Other issues I have seen, is some users reporting their Razer laptops overheating, but do they? Well, as a Razer Blade user, myself. My Razer gaming model is yet to suffer overheating issues nor as the battery swelled up, which can lead to a short life span.
Do Razer Blade Laptops Have Battery Issues?
From reading through forums, and social media pages I noticed users have had issues with the batteries swelling issues leading to a short life span. But what I would like to point out is that some users do not realize that laptop batteries should not exceed a certain temperature.
If the battery is exposed to excessive temperature for extended periods. The battery is likely to stop working, bubble, and it could even damage the laptop. Extreme heat can also lead to battery corrosion and some users have suffered Razer Blade battery bulge issues.
The Razer laptop battery should not exceed 65 degrees Celsius or 149 degrees Fahrenheit. If it does, it can cause major unrepairable issues.
Yet, any gaming laptop can experience issues with their batteries swelling up. This Reddit user highlighted the same issue with their Alienware model – See Reddit Post here.
The prevent your battery from swelling up you must maintain proper temperature management. By using a laptop cooling pad, elevating your laptop, and also cleaning regularly can help. Reducing unnecessary processors will also lower the temperature. Doing some these will help keep your laptop cooler and prevent it from breaking down easily.
Do Razer Laptops Have Poor Battery Life
Another common issue Razer’s users have suffered from, is short battery life. And this is something I cannot deny after owning two laptop models from this brand. So, it wouldn’t matter if Razer laptops break easily or not. If battery life is more important to you. Then, a Razer Blade, Razer Book, or a Razer Blade Stealth would not be suitable choice.
You also need to understand, these are powerful computers with desktop-class components inside. Plus, Chroma powered RGB keyboards and multiple fans to power and the advanced cooling system. It would take one big powerful battery to keep it running smoothly.
With that said, there are many thing you can do to help improve Razer Blade 15 battery life, or any other Razer Blade computer, as I have done with my Razer laptop.
Here are the Razer Blade 15 battery life tests.
Overheating Can Cause Razer Laptops to Break Easily!
One of the most common issues Razer laptop users complain about is how hot they can get. This is another reason why people seem to think Razer laptops break easily.
With that said, all Razer laptops all feature the same aluminium chassis. Which helps keep these laptops very thin and extremely lightweight. However, Aluminium is also an excellent heat conductor that helps to soak up heat. This downside is that it can also make the case of the laptop feel warm, and in some places, it can feel quite hot.
Here is what else you should know.
It is possible for Razer laptops to break easily due to overheating. Although, any laptop designed for gaming is susceptible to damage if it gets too hot. However, Razer laptops feature an advanced vapour chamber cooling system. This cooling system is far more efficient than traditional cooling methods that consist of copper heat pipes.
The good thing about the vapour chamber cooling system is it is able to spread the heat in two directions. Traditional methods used on gaming laptops can only spread heat in one. But the downside is it pushes the heat out through the keyboard. This is what makes the surface of the laptop including the palm rest and the keyboard area feel quite hot.
Even though Razer laptops have multiple fans and an advanced cooling system. They will still need additional cooling when gaming. So, if you are worried about overheating, there are a few things you can do. First, you need to install a temperature monitoring tool.
Ensure you place your Razer laptop in a well-ventilated area and never block the vents. You should also reduce the brightness of your screen. And avoid using higher settings in games.
Finally, invest in a best Razer Blade 15 laptop cooling pad. As using a laptop cooler underneath your device can help elevate your laptop and allow for increased airflow.
What Are Razer Warranty Packages For?
The truth is that gaming on your Razer Blade laptop, will generate heat. No matter how much cooling you have in place. It will eventually wear down the hardware. There are also other things you can do. Like, installing software that you shouldn’t. Poor maintenance and excessive overclocking can also cause your laptop to break.
Upgrading with additional storage or adding extra GB of RAM can cause issues. But the good thing is, if something goes wrong Razer will NOT VOID the warranty. However, the other things mentioned above. Razer will void the warranty. This is where Razer excels, their warranties are some of the most comprehensive warranty packages available.
