You are the lucky owner of a new Razer Blade laptop, which are by far some of the best gaming laptops. Designed to play any computer game or your most creative work in Adobe Photoshop. Yet you might not know how to take a screenshot on a Razer laptop.

You’re in luck, I am the owner of one of the best razer laptops the new Razer Blade 15. I also know a thing or two about taking cool screenshots. In this post, you will find a step-by-step guide and I will also show you how to edit them so that they look professional and polished ready for use.

How Do I take a Screenshot On My Razer Laptop?

The easiest way to take screenshots on Razer laptops is by pressing the FN + Print Screen keys. The screenshot is then saved to the clipboard. You can also take a screenshot by pressing Win+G to open up the Xbox game Bar and clicking on the Camera Icon. The screenshot is saved to the captures folder.

Tip #1: Take Screenshots Using Print Screen Button

There are several different ways to capture a screenshot on a Windows laptop, and not just on Razer laptops. On the Razer keyboard including the base model and the Razer Blade Stealth the print screen button is located top right. On the newer models the PrtSc key is the secondary key to F12.

However, there are slight differences between when using the PrtScn key method on Windows 10 & 11. Don’t worry, because I have the HP Omen with NVidia GeForce RTX 2060 and Windows 10 OS. And the new RTX 3070 Ti Razer Blade 15 which features Windows 11. So, I’ve covered both options here.

Print Screen Method Windows 10

Save Screenshot to clipboard – To take a screenshot on a Razer laptop with the Windows 10 operating system. Press the FN + Print Screen button. This will take a screenshot of your current screen/s and then you can then paste the screenshot into an app of your choice.

Save Screenshot to folder – Press the Windows Key + PrtScrn buttons to take a screenshot of your current screen and save it then saves the screenshot to the screenshot folder.

Save Screenshot to clipboard – To take a screenshot on a Razer laptop with the Windows 11 operating system. First, press the FN key + Print Screen Key. This will take a screenshot of your current screen/s and then you can then paste the screenshot into an app of your choice.

Save Screenshot to folder – Press the FN Key + Windows Key + PrtScrn buttons to take a screenshot of your current screen or screens and then saves it to the screenshots folder.

Take Screenshot of Active Window

Taking a screenshot of multiple displays may not be ideal. If you want to take a screenshot of just the active window. For Windows 11 Razer laptops press FN + ALT + PrtSc buttons. For Windows 10 users press ALT + PrtSc buttons. This action will only capture the active screen.

If you want to instantly use the screenshot, open up your graphics editor of choice. Such as Windows Paint or Adobe Photoshop. Then press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot into the programme. You can then add annotations, resize or crop the screenshot, and save your screenshot as a JPEG or PNG.

Tip #1: Take Screenshots Using the Snipping Tool

You can also use the built-in snipping tool to take great looking screenshots using a Razer laptop. The snipping tool will allow you to take a screenshot of your entire screen or just part of the screen.

You can then save your screenshots in any format or location of your choice. Moreover, the snipping tool allows for more control over how you can capture different parts of your screen. The snipping tool also has features such as selecting, cropping, annotating and has the ability to share your captures online.

For Windows 10 and Windows 11 users press the Windows key and type Snipping Tool. Then select the snipping tool from the menu. Alternatively, you can press Windows Key + Shift + S to open the tool.

Click the New button from the toolbar and choose which area on your screen needs capturing. You can choose from Rectangular, or Freeform (for more irregularly shaped selections). Windows mode (which will grab everything inside current foreground window). Full-Screen option, for taking whole display.

After the screen is captured, the screenshot features include Crop (to remove unwanted areas). Annotate (drawing arrows, circles, squares or text on screenshot), Or Save As, to save your screenshot. Lastly the Send To option lets you share image of your current screen without leaving the app.

Tip #3: Take Screenshots Using the Xbox Game Bar

The built-in Xbox Game Bar is a great tool for capturing your screenshots with your Razer laptop. The Xbox Game Bar would be a better option for gamers who want to capture their latest gaming conquests. You can also share your screenshots on Twitter. Or record gameplay footage to share with your friends.

To open up the Xbox game bar sheet, press Windows logo key + G together at any time. Alternatively, you can press the Windows key and type Xbox Game Bar and then click on the app from the menu. You can also screen record on your Razer laptop with this tool.

Launch the game or program that you want to capture an image from then press “Win+G” together at any time. Then select the Camera Icon to take a screenshot of the whole screen. This time, your screenshot will be saved to the captures folder inside Windows Explorer.

How to Edit Your Screenshots with Third-Party Tools

If you want to edit your screen shot beyond just cropping it, there are plenty of third-party tools. Some of the tools I use for image editing include Adobe Photoshop and GIMP. They have a wide range of advanced features to help get the most out of your screenshots.

If you’re looking for a simpler option. I recommend using online tools like Fotojet’s editor or Canva. Both these options have the basic editing features you need without any complicated menus or settings.

They also offer other useful things such as text overlays and collages – perfect for someone who wants something more than just cropping!

  • FotoJet: This tool offers all the basic image editing features you need with an intuitive interface. Foto Jet also includes other useful features like text overlays and collages.

  • Paint: Microsoft paint is a basic image editor that comes pre-installed on all Windows laptops. Including Gateway laptops, Lenovo Legion, Dell and so on. This tool is perfect for making quick edits to your screenshots and it is easy to use, and a great tool for beginners.
  • Inkscape: If you need more control over images and vector graphics. Inkscape is a great free option that can help you edit your screenshots in much more detail than some other tools.
  • PicPicks: This tool is an all-in-one Graphic Design suite, Screen Capture Software, Image Editor, Colour Picker, Pixel Ruler and much more.

If you’re looking for more powerful tools than the built-in windows tools available for free, there are a number of superb paid screenshot editing tools that you can use.

  • Adobe Photoshop: This is a powerful program but with a steep learning curve. But if you’re looking for the best possible control over your screenshots, Photoshop is hard to beat.
  • GIMP: This image editor offers all the features you need to create detailed edits to your screenshots, and it’s available for a fraction of the cost of Photoshop.
