Solidworks doesn’t recommend graphics cards designed for “gaming” or multimedia applications, such as NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon. The Recommended Processors for Solidworks?

When choosing the processor for a Solidworks laptop, the clock speed is most important. The processor must have a base clock speed of at least 3.3 GHz, but higher is better. Moreover, the good thing is that Solidworks supports both Intel and AMD processors. And even though Solidworks is single-thread dependent, you must make sure you choose a processor with at least 4 CPU Cores. 

Intel Xeon processors would be the best option because they support ECC (Error Correcting Code) RAM but would also be the most expensive option. However, an Intel Core i7 or an AMD Ryzen 7 processor would also be good options for running Solidworks, especially for beginners.

Intel’s new 12th Gen CPUs would be the better option because they have new efficient cores. So this means the E-Cores (efficient cores) will handle multithreading tasks and any background processors you have running. While the other CPU cores will focus on your Solidworks projects and this will lead to a much smoother experience.

How Much Memory?

How much RAM you need is next on the agender. For Solidworks, 8GB RAM would be enough for things like rotating models, renders and shorter simulations. Are Razer Laptops Packed with Powerful GPUs
