Can the Thermaltake Massive Cool Down the Razer Blade 15?

The Thermaltake Massive laptop cooling pad can cool down the Razer Blade 15. It has one large high-performance 200mm fan that helps circulate the air enough to keep your laptop cooler. Additionally, this laptop cooling pad also features a large surface area with a mesh design that helps further with heat dissipation and therefore provides better airflow.

You can see from the stress test results above while playing Call of Duty Warzone, a fast-paced AAA game that generates a lot of heat. The Thermaltake Massive cooler helped reduce the NVidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU temperatures by 6.6°C or 43.88°F.

During the same test, the Thermaltake Cooler helped reduce the Intel Core 12700H CPU temperature by 7°C or 44.6°F. Which is impressive, even though the Razer Blade cooling system is good. It is still worth considering buying the Thermaltake laptop cooler.

After testing the TECKNET Laptop Cooling Pad, I found it to be a reliable option for keeping the HP Omen 15 and Razer Blade 15 running efficiently. While it may not offer the same level as power or cooling as the Thermaltake RGB cooling pad. It still has some impressive features.

The TECKNET Laptop Cooling Pad is suitable for a wide range of range of Razer gaming notebooks, however I found it to over hang a little with a 17-inch ASUS gaming laptop. Although still usable and this does not effect the cooling too much. However, I would recommend this laptop cooling stand for users who own the 14-inch, 15-inch and 16-inch Razer notebooks. But, it can also effectively support large and heavy laptops.

While the TECKNET Laptop Cooling Pad may not offer the same level of power as the Thermaltake cooling pad, it still delivers reliable cooling performance. Razer Blade laptops are absolute powerhouses when it comes to gaming notebooks. The build quality is exceptional, and they always pack in the latest hardware, including the speedy 12th Gen Intel Core i9 CPUs and superb NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs.

As a result, you won’t be hampered by the hardware, no matter what games you play. Unfortunately, when gaming on these powerful notebooks, they tend to get quite hot. The built-in fan system and the vapor chamber cooling system have to work much harder. Sometimes that isn’t enough, so, at the very least, you’ll need to invest in a suitable laptop cooler.

Cooling pads are effective at keeping gaming laptops, especially the Razer Blade 15, cool. However, buying a cooling pad shouldn’t be the only thing you do. So keep reading, as I will show you some effective cooling solutions that I use myself. These tips will help you stop worrying about high temperatures and allow you to focus on improving your gaming skills.

Update Windows & Hardware Drivers

The first step would be to ensure you have the latest version of Windows installed and all updates have been completed. The same for your graphics card and processor. 

Outdated drivers can cause a variety of problems, including reduced system performance, application crashes, and even system instability. So, you must keep the drivers up to date so you enjoy the best performance and can also help prevent your laptop overheating issues.

Also, hardware manufacturers release updated drivers and these can often give you access to improved features, security patches and better compatibility with newer applications.

Clean and Keep the Air Vents Clear

It is a known fact that Razer gaming laptops generate a lot of heat. If the air vents are clogged with dust, it can prevent the heat from escaping, potentially causing overheating, damaged hardware, and a potentially a shortened laptop lifespan.

The next step is to ensure the air vents are clear of obstacles. Turn the laptop on its side and blow compressed air through the vents to clear dust. After that, use a soft cloth to clean the rest of the laptop. If you use a liquid spray, be careful not to spill any on your Razer laptop, as it can damage the hardware. It’s best to spray the liquid onto the cloth first.

Keeping your Razer laptop clean will allow the fans to circulate air more effectively and maintain lower temperatures. This results in better performance and a longer lifespan.

  • Ensure air vents are clear of obstacles.
  • Turn the laptop on its side and blow compressed air through the vents.
  • Use a soft cloth to clean the rest of your Razer laptop.
  • If using a liquid spray, avoid spilling it on the laptop; spray onto the cloth first.
  • Keep the laptop clean and free of dust for better air circulation.

Reduce Processor Boost Mode

One of the most effective things I have done with my Razer Blade 15 is reducing the processor state. This also works well with their 17-inch laptops and their previous models.

The minimum and maximum processor state is the power allotted to the CPU when the processor is performing minimal tasks or high-level tasks or when it is sitting idle.

You will find this option in the Processor Power Management sheet. By default, manufactures set the Maximum Processor State to 100%, and by reducing this number to 95% it will do wonders for your laptop heat output when under heavy load.

Use your laptop in a cool environment

Another way to combat heat is by using your Razer Blade 15 in a cool environment. This will help keep the internal components of your machine cool, and prevent it from over-heating.

It will also help reduce fan noise and increase system stability. It would be worth checking your manuals for information highlighting the ambient temperatures for your particular model.

Reduce Background Processes

One of the best ways to reduce the amount of heat your Razer Blade 15 produces is to reduce the number of programmes or apps running in the background. Computer programmes use up system resources, and will also generate heat.

The reduction of unnecessary processors will not only keep your Razer Blade 15 cooler. It will also help increase system stability and improve your gaming performance. 

Check using the Windows task manager sheet to see which programmes are using the most resources and disable them if you do not need them. If you are unsure what the programme does. Research it before disabling it, you don’t want to make things worse.

  • Click Windows Key + X
  • Select Task Manager
  • Select the Processors Tab
  • Right-Click Programme – End Task
